Amateur Radio License examinations are administered by ham radio volunteers examiners (VE). The Columbia County Radio Club (CCARC) will be sponsoring VE testing for those interested in taking the Amateur Radio exams.

The CCARC VE contact is Pete LaPierre, K1OYQ. Please send an E-mail to Pete if you have questions about the testing. Testing will be held held bimonthly and will be continuous (as needed) on odd numbered months, on the second Saturday at 9:00 AM. Location for the testing is Christ The King Lutheran Church, 4232 Evans To Locks Road, Evans, GA 30809 - Church phone 706-855-7189.

The Augusta VEC Group sponsors VE Test sessions on even months. The testing is usually conducted at the Warren Road Baptist Church, 2799 Washington Road, at the corner of Washington Rd. and Fury’s Ferry Rd. For additional information link to the Amateur Radio Club of Augusta web site.

Aiken VE Sessions are held at Aiken Prep, 619 Barnwell Ave. N.W., Aiken, S.C. Test sessions are held at 7:00 PM on the second Thursday on odd months. For more information follow this link to the North Augusta Belvedere Radio Club web site.

What To Bring To The Test Session
If already licensed, applicant needs to bring a copy of current license to be included in paperwork sent to ARRL/VEC. All applicants must present photo identification. Applicants need to bring pencil and pen and may use a simple calculator (one that can not store data (ie. formulas). The fee for testing is $15.00. Checks are preferred and should be made out to "ARRL/VEC"
